April 2, 2025: I and the Father are One

Throughout history, people have searched for identity, purpose, and belonging. We long to know who we are and where we fit in this vast world. In John 10:30, Jesus declares, "I and the Father are one." This profound statement reveals the intimate connection between Jesus and God the Father, and it invites us to reflect on our own relationship with Him.

A Story of Oneness

There was once a young man named David, who grew up feeling abandoned. His father left when he was a child, and his mother struggled to make ends meet. He always felt like an outsider, never truly belonging anywhere. As he grew older, he sought validation in friendships, success, and even reckless living, hoping to fill the void inside him.

One day, a mentor introduced David to the teachings of Jesus. As he read about Christ’s love and unity with the Father, something stirred within him. Could it be that he, too, was called to such a deep relationship? He began to pray and seek God’s presence. The more he surrendered, the more he felt a peace unlike anything he had known before. Slowly, David realized that he was never truly abandoned. God had been with him all along, calling him back into a relationship of love and belonging.

Years later, David became a counselor, helping others who struggled with identity and rejection. He would often share his story, saying, "I found my true home when I realized that I was never alone. The Father was always near, waiting for me to recognize His love."

Our Oneness with the Father

Jesus not only claimed His oneness with the Father but also invited us into that same unity. Through faith in Christ, we are no longer orphans—we are children of God. His presence within us is a constant reminder that we are never alone.

When we truly embrace our oneness with God, our lives begin to change. We move with confidence, knowing we are deeply loved. We extend grace to others because we understand the grace given to us. We become instruments of His love, just as Jesus was on earth.

Reflection Questions:

  1. In what areas of your life do you struggle to feel God’s presence?

  2. How does understanding your oneness with the Father change the way you see yourself?

  3. What steps can you take today to deepen your relationship with God?

May you walk in the assurance that you are one with the Father, deeply loved, and never alone.
